This quote makes me think about the Duke of Edinburgh Award. It has 3 levels: bronze, silver, and gold. To qualify for the award you need to do a Qualifying Journey. Since I did bronze, the journey was 2 days and 1 night. During the day I had to walk for 6 hours each.

This seems like a very long time especially since you are also carrying all you clothes and the tent the whole way. All of us were very nervous and didn’t want to go because it was going to be so long and exhausting.

But at the end it wasn’t all that bad. The bags were still heavy and the way was still very long but it all seemed better because we were in it together. We were talking, listening to music and because all of that it was much more fun and the way seemed much shorter.

If you could go back to being 5, would you?

I would love to go back to being 5 again. You live in your own little world, no clue what is going on in the real one. School is only arts and crafts. Tests and homework are non-existent. In comparison to the 10th grade, this is basically heaven. You have no responsibilities, no one relies on you and everything is basically done for you.

On the other hand, you get told everything that you need to do. So in that sense you have don’t have any freedom at all. People control and command you since you don’t have a voice loud enough yet to be heard and understood. As you get older you get taken more seriously and people start listening to what you have to say
